Aarti of Shri Krishna Overview
As you all must have heard the story of Krishna’s birth. How about King Kansa of Mathura had his own sister Devaki who was married to King Shri Vasudev of Yadav dynasty. On the day of their marriage, Kansa put Vasudev and Devaki in prison and started killing all their children due to a prophecy (that Kansa would be killed by Devaki’s eighth son). Shri Krishna was born after Kansa killed all the children till his eighth child.
That day such a miracle happened that all the gatekeepers became conscious. And Shri Vasudev leaves Krishna to his friend Nand Baba and his wife Yashoda in Nandgaon to save him from Kansa. Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated on the occasion of this day itself. Even today this festival is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. And God’s Aarti (Aarti Kunj Bihari Ki Lyrics) is performed.
