Overview of Durga Saptashloki
Durga Saptasati is also recited during Navratri with the chapters divided among the nine days. These chapters of Durga Saptashati, the story of Devi’s glory are also recited during Chandi Homa, performed on the 8th day (ashtami) of Navratri People who recite this path daily, can get rid of black magic and obstacles in their life. Devotees, who are not strong and feel less confident must recite this path as Durga Maa is the ultimate form of Shakti which means full of strength, courage and power.

Om asya shrii-durgaa-sapta-shlokii-stotra-mahaa-mantrasya
Naaraayanna rssih । anussttupa-aadiini chanda-amsi ।
Shrii-mahaakaalii-mahaalakssmii-mahaasarasvatyo devataah ।
Shrii jagad-ambaa-priityi-artha paatthe viniyogah ॥
Jnyaaninaam-api ceta-amsi devi bhagavatii hi saa ।
Balaad-aakrssya mohaaya mahaa-maayaa praya-[i]cchati ॥1॥
Durge smrtaa harasi bhiitim-ashessa-jantoh
Svasthaih smrtaa matim-atiiva shubhaam dadaasi ।
Daaridraya-duhkha-bhaya-haarinni kaa tvad-anyaa
Sarvoa-upakaara-karannaaya sada-aarda cittaa ॥2॥
Sarva-manggala-maangalye shive sarvaartha-saadhike ।
Sharannye tryi-ambake gauri naaraayanni namostu te ॥3॥
Sharannaagata-diina-arta-paritraanna-paraayanne ।

Rogaan-ashessaan-apahamsi tussttaa russttaa tu kaamaan sakalaan-abhiissttaan ।
Tvaam-aashritaanaam na vipan-naraannaam tvaam-aashritaa hyi-aashraya-taam prayaanti ॥6॥
Sarva-abaadhaa-prashamanam trai-lokyasya-akhilea-ishvari ।
Evam-eva tvayaa kaaryam-asmad-vairi vinaashanam ॥7॥
