Overview of Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Aarti
Jaya Ekadashi is a Hindu religious observance that is celebrated on the 11th day (Ekadashi) of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) of the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin (October/November). It is believed that observing the Jaya Ekadashi fast and reciting the Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha (story) brings spiritual merit and blessings.
According to Hindu tradition, the Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha narrates the story of King Mandata, who was freed from the curse of being born as a tree by observing the Jaya Ekadashi fast. The story highlights the importance of devotion, purity, and self-control, and stresses the significance of observing Ekadashi fasting as a means of attaining spiritual liberation.
On Jaya Ekadashi, devotees observe a fast and perform puja (worship) to Lord Vishnu. They also recite the Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha and sing devotional songs to seek Lord Vishnu’s blessings. The fast is broken on the next day (Dwadashi) after taking a bath and offering food to Lord Vishnu.

नाम निर्जला सब सुख करनी,शुक्लपक्ष रखी॥

देवशयनी नाम कहायो,शुक्लपक्ष धरनी॥

इन्द्रा आश्चिन कृष्णपक्ष में,व्रत से भवसागर निकला॥

रमा मास कार्तिक में आवै,सुखदायक भारी॥
