The third day of Navratri is dedicated to Mother Chandraghanta. On this day the third power of the mother, the form of Mother Chandraghanta, is duly worshipped and on this day the mind of the seeker enters the Manipur Chakra. This form of Mata Chandraghanta is very peaceful and kind.
The hour-shaped crescent is adorned on the forehead of Mata Chandraghanta, hence she is known as Chandraghanta Devi. If you also want to become the recipient of the special grace of the mother and want to earn wisdom, knowledge and strength, then on the third day of Navratri, you must worship Mother Chandraghanta with reverence.
Chandraghanta Mata Ki Katha
In ancient times, there was a long war between the gods and the demons. The lord of the asuras was Mahishasura and the lord of the gods was Lord Indra. Mahishasura conquered the Devataloka and acquired the throne of Indra and started ruling the heavenly world. Seeing this, all the deities got worried and went to the Tridevs.
The gods told that Mahishasura has taken away all the rights of other gods including Indra, Surya, Chandra and Vayu and the deities are roaming on the earth. Hearing the words of the gods, Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva became very angry. Due to anger, energy was generated from the mouth of the three deities and the energy emanating from the body of the deities also got mixed in that energy.
After being pervaded in all the ten directions, Goddess Bhagwati incarnated from this energy. Lord Shankar presented his trident to the goddess. Lord Vishnu also gave her the chakra. In the same way, all the gods punished the mother by giving them weapons. Indra also presented his thunderbolt and Airavat to the elephant mother. Surya provided his sharp sword and a lion to ride. In the battlefield, Goddess Chandraghanta killed a demon named Mahishasura.

- First of all, after getting up early in the morning, after taking bath, sprinkle Gangajal at the place of worship.
- Now meditate on Mother Chandraghanta Mata and light a lamp in front of her.
- Now offer things like Akshat, vermilion, flowers etc. to Mother Rani.
- After this, offer fruits and sweets to the mother as prasad.
- Now do the aarti of Maa Chandraghanta.
- In the end take blessings from Mother Goddess.
