Overview of Minimum Wages in Delhi

The Delhi government has recently released a notification regarding the Minimum Wages in Delhi for April 2023, which is now available on the official website. The revised minimum wages will benefit numerous workers and employees. Labor Minister Raj Kumar Anand has issued an order to increase the monthly wages of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled workers, including clerical and supervisor class employees. This increase in wages will provide relief to the working class who are currently facing the impact of inflation. Workers in the unorganized sector who usually earn minimum wages cannot be deprived of dearness allowance.

Under the new notification, the monthly salary of semi-skilled workers has been raised from Rs. 18,499 to Rs. 18,993, which is an increase of Rs. 494. Skilled workers’ monthly salary has been increased by Rs. 546, from Rs. 20,357 to Rs. 20,903. Additionally, unskilled laborers’ monthly salary has been raised from Rs. 16,792 to Rs. 17,234. The revised wages have come into effect from April 1st.
Minimum Wages in Delhi April 2023:

The salary of non-matriculated employees has been raised from Rs 18,499 to Rs 18,993 per month, while the monthly pay of matriculated and non-graduate workers has been increased from Rs 20,357 to Rs 20,903. Furthermore, the monthly income of graduate workers and laborers with higher education has been raised from Rs 22,146 to Rs 22,744. Labor Minister Raj Kumar Anand stated that the increase in minimum wage has been implemented to support the poor and working class. The Delhi government has factored in the dearness allowance to announce the revised minimum wage.
