Overview of PM Svamitva Scheme
The PM Svamitva Scheme is a government initiative aimed at providing property cards to rural landowners in India. The guidelines for the PM Svamitva Scheme are as follows:
- Eligibility: All rural households who own residential properties in rural areas are eligible for the scheme. The property must be located in a revenue village and must be recorded in the revenue records.
- Identification of the property: The property must be identified using the latest survey techniques such as drones, and GPS systems. The property will be surveyed and mapped, and the boundaries will be demarcated.
- Issue of property cards: Once the property has been identified and mapped, a property card will be issued to the landowner. The property card will contain details such as the name of the owner, property details, and survey number.
- Coverage of the scheme: The scheme aims to cover all rural households who own properties in India. The scheme will be implemented in a phased manner, with priority given to states with a higher number of rural households.
- Role of state governments: The state governments will play a crucial role in implementing the scheme. They will identify the beneficiaries, provide the necessary infrastructure, and ensure the accuracy of the survey.
- Financial assistance: The central government will provide financial assistance to the states for implementing the scheme. The financial assistance will cover the cost of surveying, mapping, and issuing property cards.
- Use of property cards: The property cards will help rural landowners to establish their ownership of the property and to access credit from banks and other financial institutions. The property cards will also help in resolving disputes related to land ownership.
